What is Pilates
Pilates is a method of exercises and physical movement designed to stretch, strenghten and balance the body. By focusing on healthy breathing and developing deep core muscles awareness and strength, it increase a general sense of well being, muscular and mental coordination, joints flexibility, and it works towards an overall balanced postural alignement.

Testimonials
"I have done pilates with nadia weekly for about
three months. In this time I have had less
backpains and less strain in my shoulders and neck
than I have had for the last five years when I had a
back injury. Thanks to Nadias meticulous eyes I have
slowly started building up enough strengt to use my
body in a healthier way, and it makes a surprisingly
big difference in my everyday life!"

" One has to change ones life constantly according to new challenges,
thoughts, life- vision and preoccupations.
As a musician I have always paid attention to my body- that is- how it has
to function in micro - levels of awareness. Also the daily life of a
musician means that playing an instrument constantly confronts one by being
a mirror of ones sub-conscious. Nadia as an artist is aware of all this as
well as being a master of rethinking techniques of using the body. So my
pilates sessions with her are fascinating as we investigate and optimize
micro-levels of balance, muscle-memory, the science of using the body as
well as quite frankly awakening body flexibility and strength I had either
forgotten or never knew existed. She is a virtuoso, passionate and wonderful
teacher and artist and I am extremely fortunate to have met her and be able
to benefit on many different levels from her thoughtful and inspirational
teaching".

"A mid clavicle break can hurt a lot. When a decision about whether to operate or not drags on, then an operation to put 9 screws in and a plate is done, 8 weeks can pass very quickly. Pain and fear kept not only my shoulder inactive for all that time, but the whole half of my upper torso. When Nadia spent one afternoon with me, within two hours, she had me moving my shoulder and rotating my arm. She dealt so kindly and firmly with my fear, and made me meet the pain with confidence. All the time she made me feel comfortable and confident through her kind support. Showing me pictures of the shoulder and helping me understand the mechanics of it allowed me to take control of my injury.
The change was immediate and dramatic. The next day people could not only see my improved movement but remarked on my complete change in persona, my voice, my smile, my eyes all were testament to the way I now felt. From that point on, my recovery was dramatically fast tracked. I saw Nadia a couple more times and kept up with the exercises she recommended. Thanks Nadia, you are a natural and are made to do this kind of work".

"A friend of mine works full time for the cirque du soleil as a clown, it's very physically demanding work and he's now in his mid forties. The circus sometimes performs twice a day and are constantly on tour. He swore by pilates and the transformational strength it gave his body. Along with this vote of confidence and the need to connect more to my body and feel stronger in it, I got interested in taking classes in Pilates and found Nadia Cusimano teaching in Kreuzberg, Berlin.
Nadia Cusimano is the best teacher I have ever witnessed when it comes to learning about body movement. Learning pilates from her is a very rich and constantly expanding experience. As a retired dancer from the Sasha Waltz & Guests dance group in Berlin, she has a profound understanding and respect for the unlimited potentials in how the body can heal itself. And with the correct guidance, shows how the body and mind can become stronger as a wholistic experience.
My work requires long hours and a lot of international travel which can be very tiring - Nadia's method has strengthened me and made me more supple internally. Furthermore, I feel much more connected to my body, more centred and more respectful to this extraordinary apparatus which carries me through life."
